So, uh, if any of you knew Nanao ... she's, er -- she's not here anymore.

[And there he stops, but there's still transmission, until he sighs audibly a few moments later and turns it off with a dull click.]

[Action for Nanao's house in Goldenrod! He's moping on a couch somewhere. Living room, probably.]

-- _{okay, there.} So!... network ... here's a question. If anyone could fill me in, that'd be great. What's this "Halloween" thing I keep hearing about? Because the only other time I've heard that name was around this time last year and laaast year, there were monsters. Big ones. So, uh, if that's what we're talking about -- why is everyone so damn excited about it?

I mean, maybe this is just me, but I sure don't see how monsters and soulless pokémon are a thing to look forward to. So ... just please tell me it isn't that.

[Hello Goldenrod! Now, the anime map clearly indicates that there are a bunch of parks or at least general areas of greenery in this city. Tonight, if you stumble across one in particular, you might see a sight that is really quite concerning. ]

[Three hobos gathered around a somewhat pitiful fire trying to keep warm in the chilly weather. Temperatures aren’t that bad, but the winds are horrible.]

[Except they’re only temporary hobos. Tulio, Miguel and Envy have just been running low on the connings and thievery lately, and breaking into the hotel is too bothersome to attempt more than once or twice. It’s irksome. They’re frustrated. And desperate.]

[Okay, not that desperate. But know that if you approach (by all means do!) you may or may not get things stolen.]

[Meanwhile, enjoy the thieves being annoyed with the situation.]

[Hello Goldenrod. Today you might find a mutant dragonfly - also known as a Yanma - happily circling one of those mistletoes in town with what must be the happiest, most derpiest and mindless face ever.]

[Beneath this huge red insect circling the green plant of doom, you will probably find two very confused con men. Tulio is watching his pokémon with a sort of angry frown, while Miguel just looks confused.]

[This goes on for a while. The partners stare up at the bug that is circling. And circling. And circling, and circling some more, in some kind of never-ending cycle.]

[And finally, we just get a good summary of the situation from Tulio:]

What the hell.

[Hello Route! You haven't seen this face for a while, but Tulio's been staying off the 'gear because if you're a thief and con man you don't want people to recognize you he's been busy.

And today, he's outside. You can probably catch the tail end of his grumpy muttering:]

-- sick and tired of this place... 

[That enormous Yanma is buzzing around his head, and he's, for once, otherwise alone in the streets of Violet. He's not sneaking around, but making sure to stay in the background nonetheless.

He's been checking the 'gear. Once he realizes it's recording, however, his eyes darken and he sets his jaw.]

Damn it!

[End feed here. Action for anyone who might feel like bumping into him in Violet!]

[The feed comes to life with some static, showing the ground and Tulio's feet. Tulio's muttering to himself, rapidly, and in the background you can hear a light buzz of wings.]

-no clue what the hell this is supposed to be, either, and get away from me-

[You hear a soft cry from a Yanma, and Tulio makes a noise of frustration, turning the PokéGear over, so you can see his face looking at it, trying to make sense of the machine. He's frowning, tilting his head a little, and looks frustrated. He's distractedly making a shooing motion with his spare hand, trying to make the Yanma go away. The Yanma in turn keeps flitting about, looking quite elated to have a companion. Tulio, not so much.]

-you're not helping, you big bug, shut up!

[The Yanma shrinks back a little, looking slightly hurt, and Tulio sighs, thinking out loud, still speaking quickly.]

Alright, here are the facts: I don't know where I am. I'm being followed by a mutant dragonfly ... thing... A stranger gave me things and kicked me out to wherever the hell this is. And those things don't make sense. This place doesn't make any sense. What is this, some kind of spiritual quest? I'm not a fan of the mumbo-jumbo, I just want to get back to Spain...!

[He trails off in a frustrated groan, dragging a hand over his face, but then looks down at the PokéGear again. He turns it over once more, so you see a few fingers obscuring some of the camera.]

And this thing, what's it called, a gear? How is it supposed to help me? Good god...

[Some clicks and shuffling noises are heard, and you can presume Tulio stands up as the image shifts, and then the video feed ends.]
